When Gmail first came out, people were scrambling left and right to get invites to open their own accounts. The word was out – Google had come out with the best free web-based mail. There were all sorts of hype as to what Gmail had to offer. Very large storage space, filters, labels, searching, no need to delete old emails – all these and more. Now that Gmail has been around for some time, it is safe to say that Google lived up to its promises. Countless people who used to have email accounts with other free web-based email services have had a change of heart and switched to Gmail. Even though you still need an invite to open an account, there are so many invites available that it is not an issue anymore.

Next to the much-hyped up storage capacity, usability is what makes Gmail the best. My favorite new feature is not even about email! Recently, they introduced the Gmail Chat. It is a feature which allows you to chat live with your contacts within the Gmail window. Gmail contacts from your address book are automatically added to your chat contact list on the left hand column. Much like any messenger service, you can see whether they are online or offline. You can even put your own status message. One thing that seems missing is the “invisible” option.

Another thing is that when you are logged out, you cannot receive offline messages. Of course, Gmail is about email really, not chatting.

Speaking of email, one of Gmail’s main selling points is that you never have to delete old emails again. Just tag them, label them, and then archive them. Using Google’s searching capabilities, you can find any email that you have in your archives. Now isn’t that neat?

When you exchange a series of emails with another person, you will get each mail under the same thread. This is much like the threads in forums. The result? You avoid cluttering up your inbox with emails with subjects such as Re:Re:Re:! However, this can be annoying to people who do not use Gmail as they will get a long thread each time.

I also like how much easier it is to view and download attachments. You can even choose to download all attachments in one go. They will be saved in one zip file.

With all these features, it’s no wonder many other email providers are following Google’s example.

Mixing Teens and Bible Studies is Unusual, Isn't It?

There have been many surveys taken to determine the statistics
of how many young people remain in church by choice once they
are free to make their own decisions. One statistic records that
88% or more of the young people in church (who are regular
attendees) leave and never return once they are out of high
school. What could be the reason for this? And is there any way
to prevent it from happening?

I think there are many reasons why young people choose to leave
the church, and one reason is especially notable: Most of these
young people haven't, for the most part, been engaged in any
Bible study, but have simply been going to church to sit through
services (and see friends). Because of this, they don't have a
firm grasp of God and His Word, and don't see Him as being
personal with them. Many may have even said a prayer of
confession and repentance of sin, but the motion seemed to be
simply so they wouldn't have to fear hell, and they missed the
importance of having a relationship with their Heavenly Father.

The Earth Purifies - Earth Changes, Flooding, And Extreme Weather Patterns

It may be difficult for us to imagine how the earth which appears to us to be a solid mass of complexly interrelated parts, can have an intentionality to purify and can be undergoing a process we normally associate with human beings on a spiritual path. And even if it is true of the planetary body, we may well wonder how this happens and how it can affect weather patterns.

The 'Great Purification' of the earth has been spoken of by the Hopi and by other indigenous peoples as the prelude to a great transition of life and consciousness which the planet shall go through. This transition has also been prophesied within other ancient traditions as well as by individual seers.

The purification to which those ancient ones refer is happening all around us. It is revealed in the altered weather patterns that are becoming commonplace around the globe. Today, in the mid-West of the United States where massive flooding is taking place, and not too long ago in the West where fires raged out of control, or in the South where hurricanes took their toll, weather patterns have become extreme, and people everywhere are saying: "I've never seen anything like this before."

Purification of the earth takes place through a shift in the energy configuration that regulates the relationship of impulses within the 'nerve center' of the planetary body as they are transmitted throughout the biophysical system. It is much the same as if our own cortical functioning were being influenced by changes on the neural level so that the system itself became overloaded and had to discharge what was passing through it. Sometimes, such 'overload' is displayed in obvious symptoms we might associate with brain function such as speech impairment, deficits in eye-hand coordination, poorer vision, or losses to the ability to think clearly. But sometimes an overload of energy within the brain affects the functions that the brain regulates which are spread throughout the body. In such cases, we experience anomalies and unexplainable physical symptoms that appear for no apparent reason, that may give us cause for concern but are really being produced by energy releasing through a particular focal point or 'node'.

It is the same way with the earth. The significant 'eruptions' that take place on the level of tornados, hurricanes, flooding, earthquakes, and volcanoes, can all be viewed as separate occurrences, or they can be seen as part of a purification process that is releasing bound energy from the greater whole. The purpose of such releasing is not to do damage to the people who are in the geographical areas in which such 'releasing' is taking place, but rather to free the earth from burdens she has been carrying so that she can heal and move into a higher level of consciousness and being as a sacred planet.

An underlying premise of this point of view is that the earth is a being that has consciousness and that evolves as human beings do, though on a much more complex and vaster scale - one that is also more connected to the cellular awareness of her physical parts than human consciousness is. As an evolving being, the earth's purification is being activated by incoming energies of spiritual light that are presently affecting the planetary body, as well as all of the inhabitants of the earth.

Weather patterns that run amok cause a great deal of distress for people in the areas in which they occur. They create both loss of life and loss of property, and in many cases interrupt the ordinary flow of life for years to come. It is not an easy prospect for those involved to go through, nor is it easy to contemplate more of the same happening in the future. Even now, as the flooding along the northern part of the Mississippi River crests and begins to move south, those in low-lying areas in the south are awaiting their turn to deal with the severe dislocation that has been produced by the current overflow.

Such anticipation is not an easy prospect to contemplate for anyone, anywhere, but for the earth it is a necessary one. For if the earth is to gain the capacity to hold herself and the inhabitants of the planet within a new consciousness – a consciousness that will be about peace, cooperation, and harmony, and that will provide an end to many of the entrenched conflicts that have existed on a global level today – the purification of the earth must take place.

Extreme weather patterns which release physical and electrical energies housed in the earth's body and atmosphere are one example of how this happens. There are other examples that are more related to non-physical energies.

Non-physical energies, if we were speaking of human functioning, would correspond to emotions and thoughts that are held as energy within the human body. By moving consciousness in this direction, we transform the negative energies that are needing to be released, and in this way make their passage softer, smoother, and easier for all concerned.

On the other side of purification is a new way of life for the earth and her people. This is a vision that we can hold in our hearts along with the prayer that all beings be blessed and held in love during this time of transition.

For those of us who do have bipolar disorder (also known as manic-depressive illness), or who advocate on behalf of the bipolar community, this is a disturbing development that epitomizes the extent to which bipolar has become synonymous with bad behavior. Increasingly, lay people feel free to sling the term bipolar around as a pejorative, and seem to believe they have, through pop culture osmosis, become experts on this very complex illness. The term bipolar has become contemporary cultural shorthand for anything we interpret as extreme or obnoxious in light of our own personal belief system.

In reality, bipolar is a spectrum of mood disorders, characterized by mood swings between mania and depression.

The symptoms of mania include excessive risk taking, hypersexuality, reckless financial spending, gambling or investments, and incoherently rapid and disjointed speech. Another common bipolar symptom is grandiosity, a grossly inflated sense of one’s abilities and entitlements.

Even though Barack Obama has only served in national office for three years, his ability to, as State Sen. Donne Trotter, a Democrat, says, be "a quick read, a quick study" compensates for the lack of experience.

Currently Barack is serving on the Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee, which oversees our nation’s health care, schools, employment, and retirement programs. He is also a member of the Foreign Relations Committee, which helps shape our American policy around the world, including our policy in the Middle East and he serves on the Veterans’ Affairs Committee, which provides the care and services our veterans need.

In 2005 and 2006, he served on the Environment and Public Works Committee, which seeks to protect our environment and provides funding for our highway infrastructure.

Being on all of these committees and being a quick study, Barack Obama has gained a good understanding of how things work in the US Senate. In his book,"Audacity of Hope" written in 2006, he explains the interplay between the majority party and the minority party when negotiating on a bill.

He writes, “the majority party can begin every negotiation by asking for 100 per cent of what it wants, go on to concede 10 percent, and then accuse any member of the minority party who fails to support this “compromise” of being “obstructionist.” For the minority party in such circumstances, “bipartsonship” comes to mean getting chronically steamrolled, although individual senators may enjoy certain political rewards by consistently going along with the majority and hence gaining a reputation “moderate” or “centrist”.

He knows the give and take that takes place in the Senate and he used it to his advantage in both the Illinois Senate and the United States Senate. The legislators who worked with Obama in the Illinois Senate found that he was able to overcome his lack of experience with his ability to quickly grasp complicated issues. Senator Kirk Dillard acknowledged that Obama was “a full partner” in drafting and passing Illinois’ first major ethics law in 25 years. He also said that Obama helped create the state earned-income tax credit.

Accomplishments like these are rare “especially In a rough and tumble place driven by seniority like Illinois is,” Dillard says.

These accomplishments demonstrate Barack Obama’s ability to reach across the aisle and to get things done. Barack Obama has shown that knowledge and an ability to quickly grasp a situation go hand-in-hand with experience. Having the first compensates for the lack of experience.

Experience doesn’t guarantee success anymore than lack of experience causes failure. "What really matters is your temperament and your ability to make good decisions," Dean Spiliotes, a political scientist at St. Anselm College in Manchester, N.H. says.

Indeed, Barack’s ability to write and to speak effectively and passionately as demonstrated in his address at the 2004 National Democratic Convention, will help alleviate any concern over his lack of experience. His record of getting things done across the aisle also demonstrates his ability to lead.

In fact, Barack Obama, if elected, would not be the least experienced president. He has more experience than Woodrow Wilson and George W. Bush had when they were elected. Wilson only had two years experience as New Jersey’s governor while George W. Bush served for six years as Texas governor before becoming president.

Does Barack Obama have the necessary prerequisites, the experience needed to be commander in chief? Can Barack Obama lead? Yes, he can!! Barack Obama Can!!
